The current Tampa model
The quiz compares ten broad Tampa Bay areas across nine signals: urban pace, quiet at home, walkability, food and evening energy, outdoor access, water access, central Tampa access, newer housing, and room or yard potential. A tenth signal compares your rough budget tier with a broad area cost tier.
Calculation
Each answer sets one or more target values from 0 to 100 and a visible model weight. For every area, we calculate the weighted absolute distance between each target and that area’s profile. Budget adds a separate four-point weight. The displayed compatibility is the normalized inverse of the total distance, rounded to the nearest whole number.
compatibility = 100 × (1 − weighted distance ÷ total weight)A higher number means the area profile is closer to the preferences supplied in that quiz session. It is not a probability, appraisal, safety grade, or prediction of happiness.
Profile sources
Initial profiles are editorial, area-level summaries built from geography, municipal resources, transportation and recreation links, current market context, and local review. They are deliberately broad. We do not claim they describe every property or block.
What is excluded
Race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation, and proxies for protected characteristics do not influence the match. School or crime data is not used to steer users into demographic profiles.
Known limitations
- Neighborhood boundaries and names are informal and can overlap.
- Commute, price, insurance, flooding, and street conditions change quickly.
- Area profiles compress real variation and should never replace address-level research.
- The first model contains ten areas and does not represent every valid Tampa Bay option.
Versioning and review
Model version 1.0 launched in 2026. When profiles or scoring rules materially change, NHScore will increment the version and document the change here. Feedback about factual errors can be sent to mickey@nhscore.com.
